Russian cyber-romance seem too good to be true? Ten clues: You could be the target of a scam.
October 2, 2004 - A quick investigation revealed hundreds of American and Canadian men being scammed by this similartechnique.
An initial search revealed that this woman was on a Russian 'flower shop' blacklist as havingprovided a phony address to her suitors.
Further searches led to literally hundreds of similar stories where men had been seriously hooked, sending money for visas, airfare, a parent's operation... yet never ending up meeting their young foreign goddesses.Wading through pages of reports from hundreds of marked men, I began to wonder if Eastern European women were all scamming us lonely guys in North America.That is certainly not the case, in fact just the opposite is true.
I read many reports of happily married intercontinental couples.
I have a close friend who is married to a wonderful Ukrainian woman whom he met while doing a photo shoot there.
In fact, I consulted with both of them after receiving only a couple of e-mailed messages from 'Tatyana.'
Neither felt overly suspicious, and encouraged me to continue writing to see what transpired.What transpired was a quick trip into the dark side of cyber-dating.During my brief investigation I found many legitimate Russian dating sites, including 'The Russian Brides Cyber Guide,' where I ended up seeing my 'Tatyana' on the guide's 'black list.'
The 'black list' is a compilation of scam stories like mine, sample e-mail from the scammer and photos.
That is where I ran across the same mail which I had received - word for word - addressed to another mark, along with the same photos I had been sent.If you are involved in correspondence with one of these beautiful ladies, here are a few clues which should send you running:1. She is strangely unresponsive to many of your direct questions to her or information about yourself.2. She seems to have plenty of pictures of available - a different photo with each e-mail she sends.3.
She is very cunning and will be very flattering, especially where it may be unwarranted.4. She moves fast and falls madly in love with you early on - within 5-6 messages.5. She may be very vague about her address or surname (until #9).6. She may slip and refer to herself with a different alias, or reveal any number of inconsistencies.7. She skirts or plays down any discrepancies you inquire about from her messages.8.
She becomes very impatient to meet you, but does not want you coming to her country.
She must come to you.9. She hits you with the 'Money Mail' around the 10th or 15th letter.
This will be for the visa, airfare, etc.10. Her English suddenly becomes much cleaner in describing your visa and money wire instructions.'She' may not even exist...The more I considered the number of men scammed and the consistencies of their reports, I realized that it was nothing less than a well-organized effort.
Sadly, after coming across the stories on the 'black list,' many of the men reporting also indicated their despair and disbelief that their particular correspondent was ever a part of a plan to defraud them.

Aerodynamics is one of the leading factors in vehicle performance. Car racing has focused on this aspect ever since the 60s, when the first inverted wings were installed on formula cars. By improving aerodynamics, engineers saw faster lap times and more driver control over the car, both at high and low speeds. The final element that contributes to improved handling and grip is the downforce ? using the underbody of the vehicle to facilitate airflow and "stick" the car to the tarmac.
